THE ACCURACY OF GILILAWA DARAT WILDFIRE SPREAD ESTIMATION USING BURN SEVERITY AND WRF-SFIRE MODEL

In this research, the origin of wildfire area is assessed by using potential burn severity and WRF-SFIRE model. This research focuses on mountainous savanna region, taking case Gililawa Darat event. The most accurate index among Sentinel-2B optical indices, i.e. dNBR, MIRBI, dMIRBI, CSI, dCSI, NDVI, dNDVI, EVI, dEVI Landsat-8 OLI/TIRS thermal mixed LST, dLST, LST/EVI, d(LST/EVI) was used to map areas with low severity, an indication generally found at area. A series fire spread simulation from these conducted assess accuracy each in reproducing burned assessment showed that dNBR dCSI indices had highest value Overall Accuracy Kappa Hat Coefficient, 91.67% 0.889 (almost perfect agreement). However, suitable for mapping region due its goodness-of-fit measure linear regression model R-squared 0.7856. based resulted gained same overall 58.33% Coefficient 0.444 indicating moderate agreement, whereas dLST performed poorer than indices. it not recommended use nonlinearity level value. According simulations result, ignition started coordinates which have a distance 0 334 metres resulting witan h range 77.04% 81.90% 0.536 0.626. 81.57%, hat coefficient 0.613, underestimated ratio 0.08, overestimated 0.23, backing perimeter difference 0.4 reference.
